EO in my food??

I always thought the purpose of essential oils was aromatherapy. When I signed up with Young Living I read about their Vitality products and how you can add them to your food and ingest them. Um, what?!

Young Living Vitality essential oils are therapeutic-grade, meaning they are safe to eat. They’re designed to be used to flavor food or as a dietary supplement.

I received Nutmeg in my Premium Start Kit and was SO excited because who doesn’t love baking and the spice smells throughout the house during the cold winter months?

My older daughter and I were making some coconut macaroons for a third family Christmas and *lightbulb!* A drop (yes, just a drop) of Nutmeg Vitality in the mix was delish! The sweet spice flavor took our macaroons to the next level.

Lovely Lavender Laundry

We have two dogs. I love them. But if I’m a little late scheduling their grooming appointments, they smell. One day at work I could smell them. On my scrubs.

Are. You. Kidding. Me.

So after work I went to the store and bought all the scented laundry bead smeller-whatevers and fabric softeners. Anything and everything that would prevent me from smelling like my four-legged friends again.

But I was afraid of what I was putting on my skin. Benzisothiazolinone? Ammonium chloride? Polydimethylsiloxane?  Diethylenetriamine pentaacetate? Why do I need all of these to have fresh laundry??

I don’t.

Voilà, essential oils. Five drops on a few wool dryer balls and I have the same outcome without the harmful chemicals. For the fabric softener effect, I’ve read and tried half a cup of vinegar in the wash (put it in the fabric softener part of the washer machine) and it works great.
